The 2022 season of Ichnusa Lines, the shipping company connecting Santa Teresa Gallura and Bonifacio, owned 50-50 by the Finsea Group and San Giorgio del Porto, concluded on October 31st.
The line, which last year bravely inaugurated its routes late in the season and amidst the ongoing pandemic restrictions that penalized movements between states, finally saw a flourishing season in terms of total passengers: 90 thousand crossings and a percentage increase of 128% compared to the previous year and net revenue (+153%). A very good result, “tarnished” by the steep increase in bunker prices, but still noteworthy.
The company Moby also operates on the route, with four pairs of daily crossings, one more than Ichnusa Lines, whose market share is about 42%.
From April to October, our ferry also carried 19 thousand cars, 4.5 thousand motorcycles, more than 2 thousand campers, and almost 3 thousand commercial vehicles.
The ship Ichnusa, currently undergoing routine maintenance in the shipyard, will return to the waters of the Strait of Bonifacio in April 2023.
