A visit was organised in Novemberto to the PSA terminal in Prà, for company representatives linked to Matras S.r.l., highlights our customer focus. The guided tour of the terminal offered a unique experience about import-export activities that transit through the Port of Genoa. This visit was an opportunity to understand the complex operations that take place behind the scenes of a strategic infrastructure. Thanks to the organization of Yang Ming (Italy) and the expert guidance of Marco Ghia, Customer Service & Marketing Supervisor of PSA Italy, the participants were able to appreciate the importance of connecting theory and practice, strategies and operations in the field. Further discussion with Massimiliano Cozzani, Marketing & Sales Senior Manager of PSA Italy, and Leonardo Picozzi of the marketing office of the Port System Authority of the Western Ligurian Sea, enriched the experience.
Yang Ming (Italy) continues to demonstrate its commitment to sustainability through several concrete initiatives. This year too, YMI has transformed the budget allocated to traditional Christmas gifts into a gesture of solidarity. With the support of its customers, they contributed to the Tavola Aperta project of the Music for Peace association, financing the preparation of meals for homeless people in Genoa. This project not only guarantees quality food support, but also promotes social inclusion and offers advice on accessing essential services.
On the occasion of World Earth Day, Yang Ming (Italy) collaborated with the Municipality of Arenzano and Amiu to clean up a local beach. Colleagues participated in the collection of approximately 5 cubic meters of waste, mainly plastic and microplastic, demonstrating a commitment to the environment. This initiative is part of a wider environmental awareness campaign, which in 2023 saw Yang Ming agents around the world remove over 870 kg of waste.
These activities demonstrate how ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) issues are much more than just regulatory compliance. They represent a specific commitment to making a difference with small gestures, and to contributing to a more sustainable and inclusive future.
